Authentic "clunker" bikes
FOR SALE.
The collecting of parts to complete
these projects can take anywhere from 3-4 months to that many
years. Most of the bikes on this site represent over a year getting
it together. The hours spent on searches and bidding go uncounted
but it's a daily and weekly process over a period of years. Every
effort has been made to not just get a bike built with parts that
look 'right' but to make a bike with new or almost new parts that
ARE the right parts to replicate those years we rode them.
Finding the parts was a trial and error
process and requires a first-hand knowledge of the bikes everyone
was riding then. There are only 2 or 3 guys in the world qualified
to do this: Gary Fisher, Otis Guy and myself. As far as I know
Gary and Otis have left this project to me.
The expense and time spent on these bikes can't be recovered with
the cost of one of these. So far it's been a love affair and
a sense of dedication to the facts that accounts for the availability
of these bikes. You can't get one ANYWHERE else.
The coaster brake bikes are 3200.00
each and the hybrids are 4200.00 each.
